Reporting from St Petersburg and Mukden the fog and rain suspend major operations in Manchuria. Both sides cannot safely maneuver. repeated reports of battles and troop movements swirl amid cautious official notices and claims of renewed fighting readiness.
Fog limits operations for Japanese and Russian forces south of Mukden with only minor skirmishes reported. The dispatch notes several brisk actions but lacks official details from Port Arthur as of October 1, St. Petersburg.
