Investigators recovered some money and held Rogers on 20000 dollar bond.

Before bombardment a plan of city landmarks was handed to the German civil administration via the American minister, with copies to artillery commanders. The dispatch notes Brazilians in Berlin assure relatives in Brazil of safety and normal conditions in Germany.
Kaiser's force offered strong resistance but unit surrendered after a long bitter engagement, as cavalry raiders overran the convoy. The clash drew heavy fire and marked a clear victory for advancing cavalry.

In Nogales Sonora on Oct 11 authorities secured confessions from principals in a alleged plot to dynamite a Maytorena troop train near Nogales. Planned rail and bridge explosions were uncovered. Americans L W Carroway J C Wilson J R MelInnerny and James MacGregor Joseph McGarry plus seven Mexicans face public court martial after testimonies witnessed by American consul Frederick Simpich.
A jury in the Jeff McCarn case, U S district attorney for Hawaii, split six to six on innocence and was discharged after failing to reach a verdict on the charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. The dispute arose from a May 5 altercation linked to a lawsuit with Claudius McBride accusing McCarn.
