Crowds fill Traction Park for the biggest fair in history. Albuquerqueans expected to attend from morning to night for a day packed with events as the twenty seventh annual carnival is crowned.
The Albuquerque day of the Twenty seventh territorial fair features Commercial Travelers Derby Day at the race track. Governor Curry and General Thomas will attend along with state and territorial leaders. The program includes bronc busting baseball races a big parade and dog show with Moors and French forces mentioned in unrelated dispatches.
French and allied forces fought near Tidierbot Hill yesterday as a combined unit of sharpshooters with supporting regular power repulsed an enemy. The engagement involved units from Algeria and allied volunteers.
Baltimore Oct 9 Receivers appointed on the Farm ers Trust Banking and Deposit companys application for the Farmers Trust Banking and Deposit company Los Angeles? The appointees Beverly W Mister and E S Johnson bonded for 100000 will oversee Ga lena bank Carrington Keedysville Mount Airy and Washington County bank operations amid tight money concerns. The officers declined to comment on the financial condition.
In Decatur Illinois on October 9 Thomas Miller a Black man was accepted by States Attorney Redman as a juror for the Magill murder case involving Fred Magill and his first wife Pet Magill. The defense used a peremptory challenge and Miller left the box. Three more jurors were nearly accepted today with testimony scheduled before Thursday.
Mrs Charles J Ramadka wife of a Milwaukee millionaire admitted stealing from Chicago homes in a string of burglaries and petty thefts. She named accomplices including Albert Jones and Ralph Smith. Jones is in custody while Smith is being sought. The confession followed her arrest after jewelry valued over 1000 was stolen from C E Beck’s home.

Long Beach Cab Oct 9 C B D W Kohler found his wife dead in the bath tub at their home after noticing she was not in bed. Authorities say Mrs Kohler likely died of heart failure while bathing, her body remaining in water overnight. The couple moved to Long Beach from Lexington Nebraska a few months ago.
Reckless Russell from the Ruseult Mateher Carnival performs a bicycle teft drop into a 50 foot water tank. A crowd of about a thousand watches from Fourth Street and Old Avenue as Captain Maya makes a 70 foot leap from the incline to a net.
