Miss Elen Deeley aged 20 was assaulted by four men near Whos home in San Diego California. Chaffee Grant grandson of U S Grant Jr intervened and shot at the assailant as the attacker fled. Deeley was badly bruised but rescue was effected.
American and Norwegian foreign missionaries held by bandits at Tsao Yang near Peking were rescued. Reports indicate the missionaries were not injured during captivity.
