In New Mexico, Leo Seamer and Phillip Hunt, both of Chicago, were wounded after a confrontation with a deputy sheriff’s posse near San Marcial. Wayne Carroll was killed. Patrick J. Sullivan is named as relation to Carroll. The fugitives faced charges under the Dyer automobile theft act as they were treated at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Pueblo Cole County October 7 1937 John Bargfrede was found guilty of murder in the second degree for the killing of Judge John H Low. The jury deliberated since Monday afternoon and the court granted 39 days for a motion for a new trial before sentencing.
Joliet Illinois October 7 Richard Loeb, serving a life sentence for murder, met his mother Mrs Albert H Loeb during a 20 minute visit at the state penitentiary. She urged obedience and cheerfulness while he spoke of adjusting to prison life and pursuing success there. His father in Chicago is ill with heart trouble and may not see him again.
