Governor Curry declares immediate admission for New Mexico territory as a concerted movement by the people of the entire territory gains momentum. He frames a united push for statehood and full territorial rights.
Governor George Curry reports President Roosevelt will actively assist New Mexico in seeking admission. Curry says a united popular demand before Congress could yield an enabling act within two months after Congress meets, paving a constitutional convention and statehood before the next general election.
Governor Corry was a guest at a dinner hosted by the fair association. A special committee representing the group included officers of the association and Judge Ira A. Abbott along with several named local figures. A long line of politicians and friends awaited the governor in the Alvarado hotel lobby.

Government attorneys will refile in Judge Mann’s Alamogordo court. Similar actions will follow against Sacramento Lumber Company and others who bought timber lands now in the Sixth district.

New York October 7 John D Rockefeller Jr was sworn today as a member of the grand jury of the court of general sessions in the city.
St Louis and Pommern balloons arrived from Paris and Pruseele to enter the International balloon races starting October 21 for the James Gordon Bennett cup. The Pommern previously won the Brussels race, and a recording instrument is being installed under S P Ferguseon to study atmospheric conditions ahead of the contest.
Governor Curry will preside at the formal opening of the fair week as the twenty seventh annual event gets under full headway this afternoon. A fat program of sports at the fair grounds features the first of the big $1,000 stake races and a variety of lesser events.

Banquet honors visiting grand lodge members of the I O O F. local leaders welcome the stewards and announce forthcoming lodge activities and installations.
