In Chattanooga on October 3, D D Edwards on trial for the murder of Sam Brooks admitted to killing a man in Kentucky and said he had shot and probably killed fourteen men. Judge Abbott presided in Case No 4300 as Max Frost substituted plaintiff in a dispute involving the Water Company of Santa Fe. The county and water company dispute centers on a January payment of 1209 dollars claimed as a double payment for an old warrant.

New York reports the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey assets at 371.7 million with 83 million earnings and 43.75 million surplus in the year ending December 31. Dividends of 40 million were paid while total liabilities are described as payable to 12 million.
