Kentucky Storm Strikes Lexington Damages City
A Kentucky storm hit Lexington yesterday afternoon, tearing down walls and windows in several buildings. The Cincinnati and Southern engine houses, Porshee’s tobacco warehouse on Water Street, and other structures were demolished or damaged. No serious injuries reported, ten minute storm caused extensive rural damage with barns, forests, and crops affected. Estimated losses total about 100,000 city and 810,000 country.
