Three Chinese captives seized in the Suchow raid on the Shanghli-Yekin line were killed by fall from a cliff as bandits push foreign prisoners deeper into the Lincheng mountains. Dr Mertens, treating the captives, was barred from further trips by the bandit chief.

Gas Crowe an 11 year old girl is sent to jail for refusing to answer questions. The girl later returns to land jeter and answers questions before being sent back to Shite in care of Aire. Cora Mooney and others subpoenaed. a physician certifies illness for Etiodelpha Smith. Four brides in a group marriage are summoned to appear regarding tenets of a cult after their marriages.
Kansas City May 15 larger gasoline distributing firms raised the price two cents a gallon to 18 2 cents except Standard Oil company of Indiana. Monarch Gasoline and Oil company said it would raise prices. Sinclair company announced an increase. White Eagle company had announced it would raise prices despite a price war.
Caleb W. Lambert, a Valencia county road contractor, drowned Monday night when his car plunged into a stream west of Grants while a bridge had been moved from its original position. He was 42, with a sister in Monahan Texas and another in Altus Oklahoma. The body rests in Albuquerque's Strong mortuary.
New Mexico's Civil War veterans of the Grand Army of the Republic gather in Albuquerque for the fortieth annual New Mexico Department encampment. About 19 to 25 veterans are expected. programs, dinners, and a camp fire at Odd Fellows Hall are planned by the Women's Relief Corps with officers to be elected tomorrow.

In Negaies Arizona May 15 W P Capehart president of the First State bank of Patagonia was charged with embezzlement tied to the bank closing May 4. He posted 5900 head and was released from county jail. Capehart denied the charges and claimed two individuals in note transactions drove the action rather than bank inquiries.
The American Locomotive Company has received orders for 49 Mikado engines from the Missouri Pacific and for 20 Pacific type locomotives, per The Railway Age.
A fire caused heavy property damage in Arkanoag with extensive losses. Flooding in Hot Springs pushed monetary losses well above one million dollars, prompting official concerns and emergency response actions.

Hot Springs Arkansas May 15 reports from Benfor Ark state grave fears for the safety of farmers in the Saline river valley south of Benton as the Saline rose swiftly last night. Efforts were under way to communicate with farmers in the area this afternoon.

In Los Angeles on May 15 1922 Asa Keyes declares Mrs Madaliyonne Obenchain who was released from county jail days before Clara Phillips escape knew nothing of the escape. Obenchain says she received a hexed bundle later turned to the sheriff and intended to destroy it.
Four men identified as members of the I. W. W. were sentenced in a California superior court. Paul Ware Herbert W. White John Nolan and Alfred Keke received terms ranging from one to fourteen years in the penitentiary for conspiracy to violate the California criminal exondicalism act. They plan to appeal.
Fort Worth Texas May 16 Motions challenging the indictment of all promoters in the oil probe continue in federal court and will be decided by Judge William Biedschee of Los Angeles. The motions seek to quash the indictments and argue promoters have no link to the companies named in the fraud cases. Dr Frederick A Cook’s case is cited with Joseph W Bailey among his attorneys. If granted, the motions could invalidate all indictments in the air probe.
William Gibbs McAdoo, former treasury secretary and Wilson in law, toured Chicago en route to New York for clients including the Flank of Hal. He said he would not discuss politics, called the foreign situation as bad as ever, and declined to address possible presidential candidacy before heading to Washington to help unveil a Hamilton monument.
Abilene Texas March 15 Tornados struck Mitchell county killing 17. Farmers up at dawn escaped by using storm cellars. A farmer recalled hearing the freight train like roar and guiding his family to safety before the door was torn away. A seven year old spoke of fear but not the ruin, worrying only about her horse Benny carried off by the wind.
Andrew L. Hepler and Mrs Nina Rupert Hepler were held on bonds of 40000 and 35000 after being arraigned on fugitive from justice warrants. They denied their identity and a May 29 hearing was set. A man named L W White and his wife were identified as the detainees amid disputed identities and evidence including letters and clippings.
