Germany returns another note to the peace conference’s four power council opposing international labor legislation. The council refuses to consider the German note and warns of immediate measures if the treaty is not signed. Marshal Foch on the Rhine frontier pledges action if Germany fails to sign.
Count von Vrockhdorff Rantzau, head of the German peace delegation, told colleagues the treaty in its present form cannot be accepted or signed as its terms are impossible to fulfill. He warned the delegation would not sign unless there was intent to fulfill, saying agreement would risk destroying the treaty.
Frederich Kobert asserts in Vorwadérts that Entente peace terms are unacceptable and must be drastically corrected. He warns that if the peace is imposed Germany will decide its own fate while appealing to hope reason will prevail.
