Airplanes begin mail service between New York and Philadelphia with government officials present at the inauguration. The event marks a key development in early United States aviation and federal mail transport plans.
The United States launches a new aerial mail service led by army aviators. A flight from New York to Washington delivered 735 parcels including White House and White House-related mail. At noon three praye rs by pastors of three faiths will be held at the auditorium. Paris May 1 Sergeant Frank L Maylies of New Bedford Mass a member of the French force has shot down another German aircraft raising his tally to nine enemy planes since February 19.
