Genoa May 14 The foreign minister Signor Schanzer handed Ambassador H a formal invitation for the United States to participate in the newly arranged Hague conference on Russian affairs to be held in June. The invitation was immediately forwarded to the state department in Washington.
The Genoa conference will reconvene June 15 at The Hague to discuss Russian issues. A compromise plan proposed by Premier George will be reviewed by invited powers and the subcommittee on Russian affairs. The aim is to form a commission on the Russian question and report within three months.
Champion Schaefer, winner of the world’s walk, will defend his title for the second time this week in San Francisco’s tra hall. He faces Welker Cochran in a keen rivalry that has energized the meet as both players compete for 500 points across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.

Eugenia Blair a well known actress in Anna Christie at the Cort Theater died in her dressing room after an early part of Saturday night’s performance. Officials say heart disease is the suspected cause and the death was not announced until today.

Chicago May 14. Specials arrest of Mig Tim Murphy Con Shea Fred Mader and other labor leaders after the recent reign of terror highlights Murphy and Shea. Murphy faces an appeal in a six year U S circuit court sentence for the Polk Street station mail robbery of April 6 1921 involving 380 000. He is free on bond awaiting the appeals court decision. Shea a sinister figure in union politics rose from teamster to head of the international union and later ran Chicago operations from the Brig as house. He later faced charges including stabbing a woman and a Sing Sing sentence. He returned to Chicago opened a West Adams saloon becoming secretary treasurer of the theatrical janitors and linked to the building trades council. He is booked on receiving stolen automobiles tied to a Chicago New Orleans traffic ring.
Moscow May 14 reports reveal a pamphlet by Semenoff Vasiliev detailing 1918 plots to kill Lenin and Trotsky. It describes plans to poison or shoot the leaders, the Red Terror, and arrests of Social Revolutionary figures, with trials anticipated before a Bolshevik tribunal.
Chicago May 14 The Associated Press reports a $20 million double decked boulevard planned for South Water street to replace six blocks of market activity. The project includes inland traffic routes with river docks and connections to West Randolph and 30 lines entering Chi Jeno.
Special correspondent reports a masked burglar entered Miss Helen Annett's home at 350 Park Avenue in Raton New Mexico between 11 and 12 Wednesday night. He ransacked the purse took about six dollars and sought jewels in the bank vault while an accomplice waited outside. The intruder was described as a slim youth with a cap overcoat a small gloved hand and armed with a revolver.
Rudy Studebaker a blind 87 year old man is defendant in a district court divorce case filed by his 86 year old wife Mrs. Nancy B. Studebaker. The couple married July 1 1899 and separated two years ago. She accuses cruelty and nagging and the trial is set for May 18.
