German adviser Herr von Kemnitz said a 1916 17 plan aimed to enlist Mexico and Japan against the United States. He held that Germany would only undertake obligations if Mexico could induce Japan to join, with Mexico seeking financial aid and the return of Texas New Mexico and Arizona.

Dr BV Ladd of North Dakota Agricultural College Fargo was nominated for United States Senator if he receives forty four votes while Senator A Grennanine was also considered. Gen Ignacio Aguay Carquez is a candidate for governor of Chihuahua. Governor de la Huerta of Sonora is favored by some for the honor. Fernando Iglesias Calderon of Mexico City is also mentioned as a possible choice.
