May 12 Denver area reports partly cloudy and cooler east portion of New Mexico. Saturday outlook cooler conditions. Sunday expected generally fair with cooler southeast, affecting regional conditions.
Cavalry units reported crossing the Rio Grande to reach and rescue a United States citizen in danger. The move followed reports of an emergency requiring swift action by armed detachments. Local authorities coordinated with military forces for the operation.

Brownsville Texas May 12 United States soldiers will not cross into Mexico from this border section after the killing of Curtis Tuyles American farmer by three supposed Mexican bandits near Mercedes last night. The bandits escaped across the Rio Grande and Gen Alfred Ricaut Carranza commander at Matamoros promised to apprehend the Mexicans. Two shots from the Mexican side prompted a complaint to Carranza authorities. Ricaut pledged more vigilant patrols on the American side.
New York May 12 Gold imports from Canada arrived at J P Morgan & Co bringing this week’s total to over 3 million dollars. The shipment, split roughly between Sovereigns and bars, is tied to recent Dominion of Canada supply purchases and arrived from Ottawa.

An earthquake was distinctly felt in Anaconda Montana at 7 tonight. Buildings in the business district shook but there was no damage reported.
The twelfth annual meeting of the National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis adjourned with election of Dr. Edwin I. Haldwin as president and Dr. W. Ramkin and Dr. James A. Plomteaux died after pneumonia and, with probate judge and city clerk present, verbally willed one half of her estate to her husband Frank B Plamteaux and the other half to a niece. The large adobe house valued at six thousand dollars plus furnishings comprised the estate. In Laramie on May 12 about 150 shopmen are affected by a five percent wage increase announced by the Union Pacific railroad.
