Former Federal Judge J M Cohen says forces are marshaled for a raid on the seat of government as rebel leaders plan a garry warfare quest. The report notes a mobilization of 10,000 soldiers in the capital amid the revolt.
Juarez Mexico observes Cinco de Mayo with a military parade band concerts and a bull fight. Tens of thousands of revolutionary volunteers march toward Mexico City with 700 Yaqui troops arriving. Local officials announce transfers of federal funds and new customs and telegraph leadership as patriotic events unfold.
Representative Davey of Ohio told the House that the postal service would collapse after July 1 without congressional relief. He warned that in major cities mail service is deteriorating due to grossly inadequate salaries driving high employee turnover.
Colorado Springs May 11 Republicans from Colorado's Second district met to pick two uninstructed delegates for the Republican National Convention Roy McCreery of Longmont and Walter Coen of Fort Morgan. They endorsed Governor Shoup and praised Congressman Timberlake for loyal services.

The crew was taken prisoner one attacker killed four drowned. One officer and five marines were wounded. the rebels expect to reach Guaymas with the vessel. Kerrigan was commanded by Major Losano of the Carranza army.
Emmett H. Gill seeks divorce from Hazel Gill alleging she deserted him at their 1916 wedding and has since abandoned him. The petition claims continued abandonment after the marriage with no children or community property.

A tornado near Severance sixteen miles northwest of Greeley struck at 2 P M damaging farm houses and killing livestock. Wires were blown down and communication between Denver and the west was hampered. The storm path described as about 150 yards wide on one farm.
A Chicago meeting of livestock dealers merchants and packing industry representatives urged railroads to provide better cars for transporting cattle and other livestock. Speakers cited thousands of injuries from rough spars and broken floors in existing railcars under the National Livestock Exchange auspices.
A telegraph from Wood headquarters reports that Hiram Johnson’s defeat in New Jersey’s Republican preferential primaries was conceded. The telegram, directed to Captain Robert J. Foster, notes Leonard Wood carried New Jersey by 11237 votes as complete returns come in from Bates County.
In California's presidential preference primary only 4,631 of 5,724 precincts reported with Mono county absent. The Johnson ticket led Hoover 242,916 to 178,578 as the Republican race appeared settled. Childers of Los Angeles faced doubt on the Democratic line over prohibition stance. Gavin McNab led the Democratic vote among scattered returns. Needham's Prohibition faction drew light support.

The group aims to coordinate quarantine actions to prevent pest and disease incursions and to promote uniform regulations.

Delegates at the Methodist Episcopal General Conference in Des Moines heard a morning address by William Jennings Bryan on Where Are the Nine. Bishop Cooke of Helena asked to be retired due to ill health. the request was referred to the Episcopacy committee. A resolution on the constitutionality of the amusement article was debated and sent to the State of the Church committee amid objections from Dr Bennett.
Washington May 5 British and American officials assess Carranza’s loss of grip as rebel forces widen. Six destroyers sailing from New York head to Key West for east coast use if needed. Reported rapid rebel gains fuel concern for foreigners and ports from Tampico to Vera Cruz.
Brown Shoe company declares a common stock dividend of 38 1 8 percent increasing common stock from 6 9 000 000 to 8 4 000 000. It is the first such dividend since 1913 reorganization. The regular quarterly dividend at the annual rate on 63,000 shares of common stock is also declared.
Ramon P. De Nowri once Mexican consul general in New York says he has been appointed commercial agent for the Mexican revolutionary party by Governor de la Lama of Sonora. He will go to Sonora to confer with revolutionary leaders and has made no provision to open the agency before departure.
