Giles W. Trask a 45 year old farmer and elevator owner in Frankfort Indiana confessed to police that he killed Madame Rind a fortune teller aged 56 when she allegedly blackmailed him. He said a quarrel at her home after he visited last night led to him striking her with an axe.

The US now buys over 40 percent of Philippine exports and supplies a little over 1 percent of imports. Prior to acquisition the Philippines received 1 percent of US exports.

London May 5 dispatches from Belfast report the execution of Patrick Pearse Thomas MacDonagh and Thomas J Clark leaders of the rebellion in Dublin Castle. James Connolly wounded cannot yet be tried. The proclamation names Sean MacDiarmada Harmon Ceannt and Joseph Mary Plunkett among the six signatories.
