Operators of independent companies tell President Wilson the mine dispute is not a contest between labor and capital. They insist Rockefeller bears no responsibility for the strike actions in the mines.
Denver May 4 report of telegrams from Dr Martin D Foster chair of Mines and Mining committees notes three operators say settlement rests with Secretary Wilson who attended Governor Ammons office conference last November. Operators insist Rockefeller interests bear no responsibility and urge Wilson to push end of strike amid UMWA conflict and state law order concerns.
The Day in Congress met at noon with Senator Townsend opposing the exemption repeal. Members took up an agricultural bill and adjourned from 6 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
