Officials hope the Liberty Loan drive gains momentum as the single day quotation exceeds previous records, marking the start of a banner week aimed at raising at least three billion dollars for the war effort.
Liberty loan subscriptions reached $174,445,000 in one day and totaled $2,457,744,006 for the drive. The Atlanta district jumped from 27 to 68 percent in a day, narrowing the gap to New York. Continued on Page Two.

In Los Angeles April 20 Mrs. Marriot Subet Pink a wealthy widow was killed at her home in Hollywood suburb by her brother Henry Charlies Pink Jr who then killed himself.
