Governor A Larrazola told the Republican state convention in Santa Fe he will not seek renomination and urged party unity to defeat opponents in November. He credited education and welfare gains, tax reforms, soldier benefits, and coal mining support, stressing the party's primacy over any individual.

Three bandits robbed a Philadelphia clothing shop today in a polite manner. They bound and gagged four men and a girl, took nearly 400 dollars, four watches, and clothing, then escaped. They refused the money from a girl customer and returned her escort one dollar for a ride.
