Unofficial reports say 3000 federals under Gen Pena retreated at Bermedjil o north of Torreon with Gen Vena killed. War department denies this.
Juarez Mexico March 21 Syllaves tre Quevedo and Jose Orozco leaders of a small filibustering band active in northern Chiapas are reported wounded after an encounter with rebels. The skirmish occurred near the border as fighting disrupted the frontier region.
Eyewitnesses report Hushta and filibuster corps wounded in a recce fight south of Palomas with constitutionalist troops. Quevedo injured in the shoulder and Gromo shot in the bes. General Carranza is expected to arrive and may relocate his capital to Chihuahua City under Governor Chao's invitation. A palace has been prepared for Carranza's residence.
