The Federal Farm Loan Board finishes guiding regulations to assist farms and support credit banks as part of the government plan. The rules set standards for banks and lenders serving rural agricultural communities.
The Federal Farm Loan Board completes interim regulations for federally funded credit banks. Direct loans go to cooperatives or warehouse receipts. loans skirt individual borrowers and up to 75 percent of value. Warehouse receipts from approved warehouses qualify. initial funds up to six million dollars with a nine month to year trial period.
Incendiary fire attacked federal prohibition officer Diego Abeyta's home in Socorro New Mexico. A pile of boxes and porch fuel soaked with coal oil were ignited but extinguished by fireman F D McGinnis before police arrived. Abeyta out of town. Mrs Eva Reed ill nearby and removed for shock.
Dr O F Melle president of the Methodist Geological Seminary in Frankfurt proposes local option to decide the prohibition question. A petition bearing 460009 electors from 200 districts requests a Reichstag vote, claiming signatures come from one week’s effort and outlining a district by district vote on request from one tenth of voters.
Washington reports grain exports from the United States last week totaling 5,147,000 bushels, up from 4,746,006 bushels the previous week.

Santa Fe March 12. A Santa Fe railroad conductor H. Tompkins filed a complaint with the state corporation commission alleging noisy rattlers on the Albuquerque streetcar. Commissioner Williams said an immediate investigation would follow since the City Electric company recently raised fares to seven cents for a year to improve service. The fare raise expires on the 27th. Tompkins notes residents must quit porch conversations when cars pass.
The Right Rev. Daniel S. Tuttle, 86, presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States, is in critical condition after a week of grippe. Born 7 January 1837 in Windham New York, he has led the Missouri diocese since 1886 and previously organized brigades during Helena Montana fires in 1864.
Montreal March 12 FE N Todd freight traffic manager of the Canadian Pacific railway testified before a royal commission that railways agreed last spring to keep grain freight rates. He said American roads claimed excessive waterborne grain in 1921 and sought rate cuts to win more business.
Captain Peteroz sky, commander of the Russian refugee ship ABatarela, shot and killed himself aboard his vessel today in Manila. The motive remains unclear and no others were harmed in the incident recorded by the Associated Press.
Berlin dispatch says Germany issued an official statement asserting the assassins of a French officer and civilian slain at Buer were French soldiers, not Germans, countering occupation authorities.

Governor J F Hinkle signed the soldier's exemption bill and the Phillips-Brickley act applying the Volstead law to New Mexico. The act grants state officials powers of search and seizure equal to federal prohibition agents.
Nolan Webber aged five died in a daytime house fire at 1224 North Eighth Street. Fire started as wind-fed flames consumed a four room frame house owned by Franklin and Company. An inquest will be held. parents unaware of the tragedy for over an hour.
Samuel C. Pandolfo former head of the Pan Motor company of St. Cloud Minn must serve ten years in Leavenworth prison and pay fines totaling four thousand dollars after the Supreme Court refused to review his conviction for fraudulent use of the mails. Pandolfo long resided in New Mexico with ties to Alamogordo Clovis Tucumcari and Albuquerque.
A violent storm struck Greenwood Mississippi last night killing James Burden and causing about 100000 dollars in property damage. Two houses were wrecked by falling trees in the town.
Secretary of Commerce Hoover named sixteen members to a special commission to study agricultural export problems and pursue a March 24 meeting. The group, tied to farm, industry, and scientific circles, includes Jamison Brown Hunt Atkeson Barrett Bell Barnes McFadden Williams Merritt Taylor Miller Taylor Klein Surface and others.
