Reports say Wu Pei Fu and ally Chin Yun Ao expanded control across nearly all Honan. In Machang area Li Ching Ling and Chang Tsung Chang face stiff resistance from the Kuomintang led by Lu Chung Lin. Shantung forces retire from Machang and reoccupy town now under Kuomintang attack. Sing Yang Chow reportedly occupied. Taku gunboats arrived March 3 but did not land. Police and army officials investigate the Sunday shooting of Herbert K. B. Miskwell a Fitzsimmons general hospital patient who said a masked robber shot him at the gates to the hospital grounds. Miskwell was wounded in the left arm and the bandit fled.
