New York reports Secret Agents Di Fiore and Harris led a government crackdown from Tombs prison, exposing a national counterfeiting ring worth millions. Arrests followed of Enrico Sche and Salvatore Esposito as the case moved before U S Commissioner Hitchcoeck.

A weather bulletin from Efiver Colorado dated March 7 reports unsettled conditions for Thursday and Friday with rain in the south and snow in the northwest. Temperatures were marked by a high of 57 and a low around 26 with moderate humidity and variable wind.
Jimmie Roselle a Carrizozo resident was found injured in his room with two skull fractures. Initial checks show injuries from a bat or club. He remained alive late today though recovery seems unlikely. He lived alone and reported for work at the general store when attacked. He attended a lodge meeting earlier in good spirits. No motive yet established.
Patrick OBrien, 53, arrested for drunkenness, was found dead in his Denver jail cell this morning. A deputy warden discovered the body during a breakfast check. Police and physicians attributed death to alcoholic poisoning and opened an investigation.
Harry V. Dougherty announces a plane plan to move 2500 to 6600 American Negro miners to the Ruhr coal fields seized by France. At least 569 non union miners from West Virginia will depart on the Urduna around March 15. Workers to receive seven dollars daily plus board and lodging and injury compensation.
The Rev. J. Thomas Irwin former pastor of a Yawton church was acquitted by an Oklahoma district court jury of arson. The case centered on a fire at the church on April 22 1922 and included a recorded conversation claimed to show the minister making incriminating remarks about the blaze.

Detroit officials say four men Alfred Emond Alfred Watkins Captain John Dorrington and Captain Ajex Clifford were arrested in a crackdown on one of the nation’s largest liquor gangs. They allegedly operated from a yacht owned by Bay City lumberman William Sovereign who discovered 590 cases of whisky aboard during a cruise to Toronto. Sovereign tracked the crew to Detroit and Bay City and resisted a $1200 bribe.
Witnesses in the Herrin riots trial testified that Hugh Willis, Illinois mine workers state board member, gave the order to "kill them all" after 45 nonunion workers were seized from the Southern Illinois Coal Co. mine. Robert Tracy, a riot survivor and train firefighter, identified Otis Clark among six defendants. Tracy said Clark menaced a crippled superintendent and accused Willis of arming locals. Prosecutors said a rifle shot struck Tracy while fleeing, and a gunfight at the mine ensued after Willis's arrival.
Washington reports Turkish authorities have multiplied import duties on grain and flour exactly five times. Admiral Bristol, the American high commissioner to Constantinople, relayed the information to the commerce department.

Y M Welch of the Natural Gasoline Association warned daily consumption may hit 2 million gallons as automobile numbers rise from 2 million in 1912 to 12 million in 1922 with 1925 expected up 26 percent. He cited declines in production in Mexico and Smackover while noting gains in Long Beach and Tonkawa fields and refining advances. Other experts warned of price increases, while government control was called a danger and price fixing seen as natural but harmful.

Miss Olga Ralph of Evansville Ind files suit in New York Supreme Court seeking 4000 dollars claiming John F Kirbys promise of lifetime support and name use after she renounced her own name. She alleges prior agreements in 1918 and 1922 included cash payments and monthly support but says payments ceased after 1922.
