Springfield, March 6. The Associated Press reports Ben Hooper, chairman of the United States railroad labor board, warned before the Illinois association of insurance agents that the nation faces a systematic, organized threat of industrial conflict. He cited strikes in essential industries and warned that without a method for adjustment, disputes could escalate to civil war and chaos. He said violence accompanies some strikes and urged government action to prevent a breakdown between capital and labor.
Special to The Journal Alamogordo New Mexico March 6. Friends from the party and El Paso attended the memorial for the late Dr J K Gilbert. Services were at the high school auditorium with about a thousand people present. Dr Gilbert had lived in the area for 20 years and died suddenly of acute indigestion while making a call in the south part of town. Floral offerings poured in ahead of the funeral.
From Pablo Beach reports six planes traveling from San Antonio to Porto Rico reached Jacksonville at 4 20 p m One ship piloted by Lieutenant Kirksey and an observer plunged nose first into the sea but no injuries occurred and nine planes escaped damage The craft remained upright a few feet under water as officers and civilians helped refloat it.
Highlands New Jersey March 8 a snowstorm limits view as five new arrivals drop anchor and prepare to unload. Several loaded with supplies slip alongside them and begin unloading. There are now 15 vessels on the row amid tense activity.
Denver forecast shows generally fair weather for Wednesday and Thursday with warmth on Wednesday. Arizona expects fair conditions with little temperature change on Thursday.
Conditions for the twenty four hours ended at 6 p m yesterday reported by the university show a high of 51 and a low of 37 degrees. Humidity at 6 pm was 66 percent with light westerly winds.

Valencia county grand jury indicted Mrs Maude Pena and Guadalupe Quintana for the murder of George Burkhold on February 16. Bonds set at 15000. they cannot post and are jailed. Trial expected this term. Burkhold, Pena and Quintana resided at Pena’s home.
Sunderland England March 6 claim a new world non stop fox trotting record was set by Edgar Van Overen and Aliss Ollie Pinnerty dancing 81 hours without lianse. Neither took food.
German leader Cuno stated the Franco Belgian expedition has failed and that Germany has not suggested opening negotiations with the occupying powers. The remarks reflect tensions over occupied territories and stalled diplomacy amid wartime actions and inquiries into possible talks.
Chicago March 6. The United States railroad labor board issued rulings on vacations sick leave Saturday afternoon Sunday and holiday work for clerks freight handlers express and station employees. The decision sets vacation pay scales by years of service and outlines deductions for sickness and absence with cost to the carrier limited by seniority districts and station counts.
In IsCANaba Michigan on March 6 doctors attempted to read Miss Phelyn Lyons temperature. The antique device fractured when mercury rose past safe limits blowing the end off. The doctor estimated 118 degrees while the patient stayed rational and weak. She had disappeared last week and was found in a snowbank saying she went to cool off.
London March 6 AP Stanley Baldwin chancellor of the exchequer said English-speaking peoples would be driven by world events to unite for economic action and restore international trade. He argued future world peace would rest on these powers and that most problems are economic with the English-speaking world holding the greatest economic power.
Special to The Journal from Santa Fe on March 6 reports Dennis Chavez of Bernalillo and Vigil of Mora leading a move to recall the general appropriations bill. The vote to recess was 24 to 25, with objections from Chairman Smalling who argued for committee consultation. The governor vetoed another road bill while awaiting Pecos river treaty action and a school code approval.
Massachusetts federal court ruled the seizure of a large liquor cache from Keefe's hotel in Boston was improper. The government exceeded the 450 gallon limit in the warrant and did not pursue forfeiture actions, so the bottles must be returned to their owners.
Washington reports a deadlocked tariff commission delaying action on controversial flexible tariff provisions. The panel will study 25 to 30 applications selected from over a hundred filed, while some urge independent inquiries to expose discrimination. President Harding will decide policy on whether the commission may act on its own initiative or only on filed complaints.

In Santa Fe the senate tabled house bill 371 placing the Child Welfare bureau under the Public Health Department, 18 to 6, while the car limit bill died 18 to 5 after a late session. A series of state measures and appointments followed, with constitutional amendment plans and various bills advancing or being defeated.
A newborn white male baby was thrown from a moving Santa Fe passenger train near Dalles 27 miles west of Albuquerque on Monday afternoon. Investigators including Santa Fe special officers and Valencia county Sheriff Joseph Tondre seek the killers. The coroner's jury ruled death by being thrown from a moving train. The infant was found by a section man and died soon after at the Dalles road master's office. Names of alleged slayers listed. burial held in Dalles.
Copenhagen reports Queen Alexian underwent a serious abdominal operation which proved successful. An official bulletin released in Copenhagen states the procedure was completed without complications and the monarch is recovering.
Paris reports indicate France insists on a direct official German proposal on reparations as a condition for any mediation. Cabinet notes emphasize continued mobilization plans and the aim to keep trained troops ready, while denying imperial aims in the Ruhr and warning of German resistance financing.
Munich March 6 Dr Wilhelm Mayer German ambassador to France died here from general weakness announced today. Mayer recalled from Paris at the start of the German occupation move to Munich. Born November 18 1874 in Kinkernbach Bavaria he studied international law and was admitted to the bar in 1900. He inherited farms in Lorraine and industrial properties through his father in law. He served in the reichstag as a center party member and became charge d affaires in Paris in January 1920 before resuming full diplomatic relations as German ambassador.
In New York on March 6 Reginald C Vanderbilt and Miss Gloria Morgan wed at Miss Anna Donald home on East 92nd Street. Vanderbilt 42 formerly of Wortmouth KR produced divorce papers from 1920. Morgan, 18, daughter of Harry Haye Morgan American consul general at Brussels, gave birth place Switzerland. They reportedly met at a yachting party a year earlier.
Sieaux City reports captain and shortstop Days Bancroft of the New York Nationals has signed the contract sent to him and his dispute with the Giants organization is resolved. He will receive a raise and depart tonight for San Antonio to report for spring training.
