London dispatches report Sir Auckland Geddes has accepted the post of British ambassador to Washington pending Washington's notice of persona grata. Geddes, previously minister of national service and reconstruction, is an American married to Miss Ross of Staten Island. He served as a professor at McGill and fought in World War I, later guiding British grave registration in France and earning rapid promotions. He is highly regarded by Premier Lloyd George and King George.
Texas Woodrow Wilson Democrats meeting in Dallas pledge to send a solid anti Bailey delegation to the San Francisco national convention. Four gubernatorial candidates restrict activities to May 1 to focus on the national issue and defeat the Bailey faction.
