A man named Burnett fatally shot himself at his ranch near Tombstone after brooding over a trial. The incident occurred at his residence where an army rifle was used. Police investigated the scene and reported the death as self inflicted.
Sufficient men have not been obtained to complete the panel for the Bisbee deportation case. First of 10 defendants to face trial in the 1917 Bisbee deportations, Harry Wootten, loomed as the trial began despite one juror having been obtained. Court adjourned as talesmen continued to be drawn, amid juror complications and a juror suicide.
The local weather bulletin from Enver Colorado notes unsettled conditions with cloudy optics and little temperature change expected Friday and Saturday. The 24 hour observations ended at 6 p.m. yesterday show a low around 29 and a high near 53 with light winds from the north-northeast. Jack Carney editor of The Truth in Duluth Minnesota was convicted by a jury on two counts of violating the Espionage Act and faces penalties up to 10000 fine or 20 years imprisonment or both per count. The case stemmed from the editorial Hands Off Soviet Mussia and Carney remains free on bond pending sentence with related Chicago indictment.
Nogales Arizona March 4 Unconfirmed reports say Keequiel Lara and an unidentified man were captured by American soldiers after allegedly killing Alexander and John A Fraser at a Montana camp store. Officials deny receiving progress reports on the pursuit.

Virgil Kow Trimble 19 and two teen partners broke from Denver city jail after tearing iron bars and mortar from the wall. A city-wide chase followed across railroad yards and the North Platte river with shots fired but Trimble escaped. Gab and McDonald were recaptured. All had prior reformatory sentences for auto thefts in Denver.
Attorney General Palmer, announcing his presidential candidacy, urges machinery to inform the public on disputes to avert strikes. He says public opinion is the true monarchy and calls for fair tribunals and early resolution of labor capital conflicts to protect the nation.
H M Gaylord of the prohibition office announced a new enforcement district that will include Nebraska Iowa North and South Dakota and Minnesota. The change will reduce the size of the northwest and central divisions with new divisions created along the Mexican border and a split of the southeastern division.
Weather conditions in the northwest improved tonight though heavy winds piled snow drifts in some areas hampering rail traffic with most trains running several hours late. In the central plains Kansas City reports cold weather across Missouri Kansas Oklahoma and parts of Texas and Arkansas with lingering snow and sleet ending today and a low temperature expected to hold tomorrow.

In Detroit on March 4 three defendants Grant Hugh Browne Soterious Nicholson and Lester Waterbury were found guilty in federal court of conspiracy to defraud the government and conspiracy to bribe a government official in the army salvage sale. Nicholson may seek clemency. Waterbury was a former major in charge of salvage sales. Maximum penalties include 10000 fine or ten years in prison.
Fire in Hastings Nebraska on March 4 destroyed a three story building in the business center housing a candy maker and a transfer company. The loss is estimated at 250000 dollars with partial insurance coverage.
Washington March 4 Siege warfare against the prohibition enforcement act began in the House as wets tried to repeal the amendment under an appropriations bill. The vote was 254 to 88. Attorney General McCran of New Jersey filed suit to strike down the amendment as unconstitutional while federal enforcement proceeds. Arguments set for Monday in the Rhode Island case with appeals from Kentucky and Massachusetts decisions. The fight arose during consideration of a 4.5 million dollar appropriation for enforcement.
