George H. Earle Jr of Philadelphia bluntly attacked Roosevelt for not prosecuting American Sugar Refining officials after the 1906 Pennsylvania refinery case. Los Angeles June 29 Paul de Longpre the noted floral painter died at his Hollywood home from illnesses over three years. Born in Lyons France in 1855 he studied Paris schools then painted flowers. He moved to America in 1890 and Los Angeles in 1899 here building a home in 1901. He is survived by wife two daughters Blanche Pauline and another daughter Alice in New York.
Dr Abra ham Jacobi of New York was chosen president at Los Angeles meeting the 1912 American Medical association election. Dr W Jarvis Barlow of Los Angeles named first vice president with Dr W R Tipton of Las Vegas New Mexico among top officers. Atlantic City to host 1912 sessions. Jacobi aged 85 known for pediatric specialization and exile background.
Morning Journal special reports that lawyers for Mrs Ortie B McManigal and the McNamara brothers welcomed contempt proceedings set for Saturday before Judge Bordwell to determine if questions asked Mrs McManigal before the grand jury were proper. If upheld she may get another chance before punishment steps. Mrs McManigal, improved but bedbound after a recent grand jury interview with her husband, faces further judicial action as the McNamara case details unfold with local prosecutors and officials.
Senator Cummins urged in the senate against the Canadian reciprocity bill arguing it is not properly drawn as tariff law and would let Canada accept part of the agreement. He warned passage would trigger a storm of disapproval and imply unequal treatment of agricultural interests.
Benjamin de Wheeler president of the University of California reports that lumber interests are the sole organized industry opposing reciprocity with Canada after a long survey along the northern U S border. He found farmer support and surprising opposition to the agreement is small.

Harold Frank Henwood was found guilty of second degree murder in a Denver case involving the deaths of George Copeland and Sylvester Von Phul. A ten day stay of sentence was granted to allow a motion for a new trial, with Henwood facing a penalty range of ten years to life imprisonment.

New York June 29 Mrs Edith Russell Gambier formerly an Atlanta society girl closed her suit for separation against Edward V Gambier a New York bank cashier. Gambier’s counter suit for annulment was called. The court postponed a decision until tomorrow as Gambier’s counsel sought a jury trial. Mrs Gambier cried on the stand amid questions about her conduct including alleged statements to Mrs Adams abroad. She said she had done no wrong and had tried to be a faithful wife. Edward Gambier testified to a 9000 dollar salary and 2000 dollars a year in investments. Harvey C Sickler confirmed taking her to dinner with no proof she visited his apartments alone. He denied kissing or embracing.
