Slavs claim an important victory on the Dniester. Berlin admits but Vienna denies the report. Resistance by Austrians continues as the conflict unfolds with competing claims and cautious official responses.
The report notes the French aim to seize Lille with its factories and rail lines as heavy fighting rages on the Dniester front in Galicia and along the Polish border. Western front claims differ, with experts suggesting Germany and Austria may prioritize decisive action to halt Russian offensives before pressing Lille.
