Fl Paso Texas June 16 BE J Height a banker from Decatur Illinois living in this city for a year will be carried back to Trindle tomorrow to face a charge of embezzlement. Height was former president of the Farmers and Merchants National Bank of Decatur and led a voluntary petition in bankruptcy December 9 1910. He is charged with accepting deposits the day before the petition was filed.
Morning Journal reports a 14 year old youth George Brown robbed Bristol Jewelry Store on South Broadway. Patrolman Henry Marr encountered Brown leaving the store and fired his revolver. Barr returned fire. Brown fled to a barn, was captured as police arrived. Authorities link Brown to a vegemen gang with four members jailed on vagrancy charges.
Seward Alaska June 16 the revenue cutter McCulloch arrived from Kodiak with news that Katmal district ash fallout is lighter and no confirmed heavy deaths on the mainland. All Katmal inhabitants are safe having been moved to Afognak. only a woman and a baby were gravely ill. Livestock on Kodiak island are cared for by the government after some cattle were killed. Vegetation grows under ash depth eighteen inches and rains have cleared the water. The Toredo reports serious conditions but no fatalities found.
Denver June 16 Former United States Senator Henry M Teller aged 80 suffered a relapse during his illness. Late tonight a bulletin said he was out of immediate danger.
