Francis Majeski, one of three sailors who escaped, told naval court the weak air pressure to cleanse 14-inch rifles after the second salvo may have allowed powder residue to ignite and trigger the deadly turret blaze on the battleship Mississippi. The inquiry met aboard the ship in San Pedro California with further sessions scheduled.
