At the opening session of the investigation into Arthur Trefford the attorney general faced tough questions as ex official Breen contradicted his affidavit. Central American observers question Zelaya protestations as Mexico City reports Nicaragua denies involvement in the Balvadorean revolution. Officials say a gunboat was sent but claims it was stolen. Honduran exiled diplomat Membrane cites Nicaragua’s small force and a Central American federation aim.
New York June 14 The general executive committee of the Commercial Telegraphers union met and voted to levy a general assessment on all members. After the meeting the committee announced a telegram from the president to local unions urging immediate action to aid the strike's moral and financial support.
The court charges that a threat in extortion may be unspoken and implied and that a fair charge was given. If Schmitz received part of money paid to Ruef but did not know it was paid under threat, he must be acquitted. The mayor may request police action for reasons other than extortion. O Whitford awarded Mere Ross A Hill wife of Frank A Hill damages of 25000 dollars against Mrs Anna Bent wife of Voiein Kent banker of Ouray for alienation of the affections of her husband. The case names prominent Sewanee figures and notes the high social standing involved.
