Diabolical plot amid Haywood defense cross examines Orchard

In Boise Idaho on June 11 Marty Orchard testifies amid a long cross examination by the Haywood defense. The proceedings reveal alleged plots to dynamite a boarding house housing non union men and to kill Governor Peabody and other officials. Orchard describes how he and Steve Adams plotted and carried out thefts and attempted bombings while denying direct pay from Haywood or Moyer during the 1904 05 winter. The testimony also covers prior schemes, weapon manufacture, and money arrangements as defense seeks to cast doubt on the informant’s credibility.

Pistols linked to Denver firm in Steunenberg case

Two six shooters found on Harry Orchard during his arrest for the Steunenberg assassination have been traced to the George Tritch Hardwire Company of Denver. The weapons were reportedly purchased by George A. Pettibone and identified by a detective who checked the firm’s sales records.

Auto Wreck Claims Two Lives in Portierse City Crash

A severe automobile collision in the Portierse part of Indianapolis today left two dead and several injured.
