A Terrific crash on the California Limited near Domingo Station kills engineer A W Green and fatally injures fireman Flower. Twenty others are injured as the light engine is struck like a thunderbolt, flames surge, and a dining room waiter barely escapes with life.
Carrie Nation famed Kansas temperance fighter died in Leavenworth at 7:05 p m following a months long decline from a nervous breakdown. She had been in a sanitarium since January 27 and faced lawsuits over unpaid platform work. Funeral plans call for Kansas City Kansas services Sunday.
Percival Roberts Jr and James Gayley testify that steel manufacturers carved output agreements before United States Steel formed, while Gary dinners allegedly kept steel prices high. Roberts describes interlocking boards with rail price adjustments and railroad rules limiting cross voting.
Chinese government seeks twelve million pesos in compensation for Torreon killings 303 Chinese dead and many wounded. Investigators cite anti foreign sentiment, federal and rebel blame, and savagery including bodies torn by horses.
The California Limited No 5 traveling at speed collided with a light engine near Domingo station, demolishing the engine and derailing cars. A. W. Green and F. C. Flower died, while Arthur Robinson and many railroad staff and passengers were hurt. Dozens rushed to St. Josephs hospital as crews worked amid crowded rails and wreckage.
Promptly upon news of the disaster a local official marshals a five car relief train with officials and workers including Surgeon De and Dr Bourge. The crew arrives two tours after the wreck but fails to save Mneieer Green who dies an hour and forty minutes after the crash. A bridge shelter improvised with sheets covers Green’s injuries as a work train arrives too late to assist. Physicians Bet hney and others depart fifty five minutes later returning to the city to a crowded station platform.
A passenger train crash near Elota to Emingo ends in tragedy. Engineer Green dies from mortal injuries after attempting to jump too late and being pinned under his engine. Engineer Bealover survives, fireman Brennan escapes, others unharmed as wreckage scatters over 200 feet. The disaster halts the flyer and devastates cars and equipment.
Sacramento June 4 Governor Johnson issued a requisition for the return of Charles K Spaulding from New York on embezzlement charges. Spaulding, formerly with Wells Fargo Express in Los Angeles, broke open an express box in 1902 and later committed a crime that sent him to Sing Sing. he is about to be released.
Weat Point military academy will award diplomas next Tuesday. Secretary of War Stimson plans an inspection trip of the Panama Canal in July.
Simon Stern is named president of the Albuquerque Commercial Club with John Lee Clarke and George A Kaseman as vice presidents and Thomas J Naylon as secretary. The directors approve hiring an assistant to handle secretary's detail work to free Naylon for major projects.
Washington reports the House committee investigating the American Sugar Refining company orders Joseph Smith president of the Mormon church to testify on ties between the sugar trust and church beet sugar interests. Subpoenas will target leading western beet sugar figures as hearings begin with eastern witnesses.

The Colima capital sees cracked water mains and damaged churches. the Colima volcano continues to erupt as Red Cross units aid the wounded in Zapotlan and Sayula.
General Bernardo Reyes arrived by special train amid a mixed reception in Mexico City. Thousands gathered at the station but the crowd remained tepid with civilians largely greeting him, while Madeistas shouted down with protests and noise as he passed through.
