Dramatic Suicide of Smuggler Captain

A Turkish smugglers vessel with arms bound for Tripoli exploded near Port Zarzissner. The captain killed himself and many crew and eighty fishermen perished as armed sponge boats tried to board. The blast damaged the vessel and the sea area was rocked for miles.

Dozen Condemned for Conspiracy in Guatemala

Dispatch from Mexico City reports twelve of nineteen men condemned by a Guatemala court martial for an alleged assassination attempt on President Cabrera will be executed. Land Frauds Reported In Otero County Area

Special agents under Field Chief Defenders of the general land office are in Alamogordo district pursuing land frauds. Indictments have been returned in U S court against several individuals for land law violations and possible sensational developments may follow. J M Sullivan of the Sullivan Trust company of Goldfield Nevada was arrested on a civil warrant in New York in a suit by Frank Colton of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania seeking 162709 par value for stock in the Bullfrog Rush Mining company Colton says he bought 102700 shares for 41215 and was promised the stock was worth at least par The company is in receivership and Sullivan Trust acted as promoter Colton alleges he was offered to redeem shares for stock in other Sullivan companies and refused when told the mine ore was exhausted.
