The Associated Press says a riot between Black and white residents near Kirvin Texas left Black residents reported killed. White mobs mobilized from several towns toward Kirvin while authorities warned of violence and large groups heading toward the area.
A rural incident near Kirvin Texas leaves one white man dead and three others mortally wounded amid racial unrest. Reports say violence began after a white girl was abducted and a confrontation with a group of black residents escalated with gunfire and threats. Local officers rushed to aid and a larger tension is reported in Freestone county.
A large crowd of about 500 departed Teague for a distant location amid reports of killings and injuries near Preston County. The scene involved white and black residents with names and exact details unclear, and officials avoided labeling the incident as racially motivated.
Unsettled warm day followed by warmer conditions this weekend. Local report notes readings around 65 degrees at 6 pm yesterday, with higher temperatures expected Saturday and Sunday. Partly cloudy in the northern area with light winds.
Fort Worth Texas dispatches say reports of a Kirvin race riot were exaggerated. One casualty is listed Leroy Gibson a 19 year old Black man shot while fleeing three Freestone county deputy sheriffs after his arrest for the murder of Miss Eula King near Kirvin six weeks earlier.
A large group estimated 75 to 100 men is said to be armed and lined up about three miles southeast of Kirvin Texas near Corsicana. Streetman citizens with few left on guard have responded to the call for help as Corsicana orders arms and ammunition to be delivered immediately. Many residents from Corsicana head toward the scene as reports spread of the armed gathering.
Juarez Mexico June 2 two Mexican citizens were killed and two American aviators arrested amid investigations of revolutionary plots. Colonel Ernesto Argias and Mosendo Valasquez were seized at Rrapuato Guanajuato charged with aiding efforts to install General Felix Diaz as president. Two American pilots, unnamed, were later arrested after leasing planes to revolutionists. Federal authorities opened a wide probe into ammunition smuggling after 15000 rounds of pistol ammo were found billed as farming implements.
Montreal June 2 An indictment was returned by the grand jury of the court of king's bench against Abbe Adelard Delorme charged with the murder of his half brother.
Abbe Adelard Delorme, a priest, must stand trial for the January murder of his half-brother Raoul in Montreal. The king's bench grand jury returned a true bill and the trial is set for Friday June 9. Police allege involvement in life insurance, will naming Delorme as sole heir, and various crime-linked items found, with questions of the defendant's sanity to be resolved by a jury.
Washington June potential extension of coal prices to distributive ends faces consideration at the commerce department. Secretary Hoover plans a conference of coal dealers and producers to pass benefits of fair price levels to the public. He may detail plans before leaving for a speaking tour in Indiana and Ohio.

Mrs. Alice M. Shortle becomes president of the Albuquerque Sanatorium Company at yesterday’s meeting. Dr. W. A. Gehler is elected vice president and medical director, with Dr. W. Baird pathologist and medical superintendent joining the staff. John Simms named secretary-treasurer.
Lightning struck a chimney at the Santa Fe county courthouse on Friday afternoon and an hour later the attic caught fire. Fire crews controlled the blaze with minimal damage. total loss from water is estimated at $5,000 amid a storm with heavy hail.
Santa Fe reports the New Mexico state banks had loans liquidated to about two million dollars in the last twelve months as stated by the state banking department today.
Cincinnati date set for June 6 meeting of sixteen railroad brotherhood chiefs and other officials to discuss welfare matters of railroad workers. Ed ward H. Fitzgerald, grand president, received telegram from B. M. Jewell confirming Cincinnati as the meeting site.
Pope Pius named his former servant Signora Linda as housekeeper and wardrobe maid within the Vatican, a move described by Giornale Svitalia. Linda served the Ratti family for forty years and aided the pope since his cardinal days. Her appointment, opposed by some Vatican conservatives, was confirmed with the pope stating it is our will and stressing the need for familiar service and economy.
G M Wallace a Shreveport lawyer fell six stories from an office window yesterday. He landed on heavy wire netting over a skylight and was only slightly hurt. He asked for directions to a doctor after the fall, his physician reported.
U S Indian Commissioner Charles H. Burke arrives at the Indian school at 12 30 today after a morning motor trip from Santa Fe en route to Santo Domingo and San Felipe. A luncheon at 1 p m includes city and state leaders and educators. He plans to attend a band concert and military contest tomorrow afternoon before departing by train for Washington D C.
The body of Eric Liden, father-in-law of Assistant City Attorney FE G Smith, was found floating in the Missouri River near Sioux City on Tuesday. A bullet was embedded in the brain and the limbs were bound with cord and wire. Liden had left his rooming house Monday night purportedly to go fishing. police have not yet found a motive.
Jerome A. Meyers former national director of the Constitutional League of America pleaded guilty to stealing a $5,000 check sent to the league by John D. Rockefeller Jr. He faces sentencing at a later date.
A British regiment that returned from Ireland in February left Plymouth today for Belfast via the coast port of Delfast according to a dispatch from London.
The Romanian royal family travels in state to Belgrade for the wedding of Princess Marie to King Alexander of Yugoslavia. The ceremony is set for Thursday in the cathedral with Serbian traditions observed. Full amnesty for Romanian political prisoners will be announced on the day of the ceremony.
Chicago officials announced a wage reduction for rear men will follow the June 15 fare drop from 8 to 7 cents. The exact wage cut will be set next week, while union leader William F. A publisher promotes a free booklet on how to mix concrete using cement sand and water. It claims concrete can fix brickwork repairs, build driveways floors posts and silos and invites readers to send two cents and their address to the Washington Information Bureau for the booklet.
