A powerful tremor strikes Mexico, causing widespread ruin across thousands of square miles. Early reports indicate many deaths and extensive damage, with the quake described as the most severe in twenty five years. Rescue teams search affected towns as authorities assess aftershocks.
A major earthquake struck central Mexico causing widespread destruction in Acapulco and Chilpancingo with several deaths and injuries. Mexico City reported fatalities and widespread damage while Telecommunication lines were disrupted and relief efforts began.
A sustained series of severe shocks cripples Mexico’s capital water system and devastates Guerrero towns. Deaths reported in Iguala and Santa Julia total around twenty with fifty five injured. Acapulco Chilpancingo Chilipa suffer major damage.

Goldfield Consolidated Mines announces the complete absorption of its subsidiaries Mohawk Laguna Red Top Jumbo and Goldfield mining in a merger valued at 19008. The subsidiary charters will be surrendered and the companies dissolved.
In Seoul on July 30 progressive Koreans formed a society to develop a national policy for Korea. Lecturers will travel the country to teach that Korea’s future rests on industrial development and modern methods. They urge Korea to be economically gifted with Japan.
Private dispatches from Spain report a continued revolutionary threat in Catalonia as troops move toward Barcelona. The government claims the rebellion is quelled but warns of further possible bloodshed with artillery and machine guns amid property damage to churches and monasteries.

Troops march through streets with intent to overawe. riots in Barcelona include barricades, fires in fifteen convents, and clashes with gendarmes. The Daily Telegraph correspondent reports at Hbareehonts that by Wednesday evening riots around the lneurree outbreak escalated with churches convents and organs burned. Priests and nuns were killed or slain as revolutionists attacked religious houses while the crowd blocked aid to those inside.
The correspondent notes an outbreak that killed over 210 and left more than 800 wounded. Ten thousand revolutionists marched the streets with charred remains on poles, singing the Marseillaise and claiming the outbreak was organized by influential figures whose identities remain concealed.

A two to five mile wide swath laid waste with hundreds of acres of wheat and oats leveled near Huron. In Des Moines Iowa a severe wind and rainstorm dropped about an inch of water in an hour flooding streets.
New York July 80 The funeral for Harry Pulliam will be held in Louisville Kentucky next Monday. George W Cain, a brother in law, arrived from Nashville Tennessee to take charge of the body. He said Mr Pulliam had been overtaxed and had become anxious to leave the baseball business.
Chicago grand jury wrapped up with charges against police officials politicians and resort keepers and indicted John C Frohm minute clerk for Judge Brentano for falsifying public records in the Tenderloin area.
On July 20 Judge Mille questioned Harry K. Thaw about his inflated self view as District Attorney Jerome pressed his cross examination. Thaw admitted interrupting counsel and felt capable of guiding the case, while Evelyn Thaw conferred with state attorneys and no divorce action was reported.
Orville Wright with Wilbur and Lt. Foulois complete a 10 mile cross country flight surpassing contract speed and breaking records at Fort Myer. Taft watches as the machine lands amid cheers while officials note the test exceeded 42 mph and a $30,000 prize with a $5,000 bonus.
Kansas City reports the execution of Brooks a 21 year old African American for the murder of Sydney Herndon a wealthy real estate owner and former Tyler Texas resident. Herndon was killed in his downtown apartment his skull crushed with a hammer and a stolen pocketbook found nearby.
In Denver in July 80 the Western Federation of Miners discussed proposed constitutional changes. A key proposal would abolish ritual and require nominating all officers including the executive board at the convention with their election by referendum vote.
In Teipele on July 30 the University of Teipsic marks its fifth centenary and confers the degree of Ld. D. on Theodore Toomevelt, the sole foreigner to receive the honor.
Fort Smith Ark July 3 Special Leased Wires That Key James Marks a Presbyterian field missionary was robbed and murdered near Howe Arkansas. Burke who planned a trip to Mena Arkansas disappeared from his hotel room at Howe prompting hotel staff to search the room finding a partially arranged trunk. Several suspects were detained as police investigate the case.
In Tacoma Washington on July 20 a new phase in the drowning of Margaret Cavereau aged 17 emerged as her father said the body was found in a slough not on the bay beach. John Flynn contends the boat capsized and he tried to rescue her while denying assault. a coroner's jury ruled death by drowning.
