Mexico City July 21 Reuters reports Tuxpam a maritime town 145 miles northwest of Vera Cruz captured by a rebel force under Jose Vexs after a herd field. The U S battleship Lewiston with Rear Admiral Pletcher sails for Tuxpam, oil center on the gulf coast. The Louisiana also departed for Tuxpam to reinforce efforts.
Reinforcements are at Mocte zuma, 114 miles to the south, and will arrive when the railroad is restored. The move measures strategic relief for Junrez as transit lines reopen. The two locations indicate coordinated military logistics guiding troop deployment.

Matamoras Mexico July 21 report that twenty five federal soldiers captured in a skirmish near Jimines last Thursday were executed by rebels. Few constitutionalists were killed in the fighting.
In Los Angeles General Geronimo Trevino announces he will not accept the bid for the Mexican presidency. He says he has no knowledge of General Felix Diag's reported visit to Japan en route.
