Italian forces advance steadily west of the Piave River as they push through enemy positions. Vienna acknowledges abandonment of several strongholds as Latin troops gain ground and tighten their hold on the sector.
Reports from Copenhagen say Murman coast communities near the White Sea and Arctic Ocean have risen against Russia. US, British and French Marines patrol coastal sections while aid materials reach civilians. Allied forces press near Amiens and Chateau Thierry as Austrians retreat along the Piave. Western front actions include Australian advances east of Hamel and French patrols near Rheims.
In July at Camp Kearny San Diego the 115th field signal battalion staged a field maneuver where a motorcycle orderly delivered mail. During a sing fest the mail was read aloud by the orderly who called each address and received playful responses. Letters flew up to thirty feet as ownership was confirmed then reading resumed.

London July 7 Allied troops aboard transport ships face strict anti submarine precautions as officers plan rapid orderly evacuations. Life preservers stay on, sailors sleep in clothes, and drills are conducted to move thousands to upper decks within minutes. An incident on a British transport showed vigilant sentries enforcing rules and arresting a guard for a light.
