Cave City Ky Feb 9. Military authorities at Sand Cave will open an inquiry tomorrow at 10 o'clock into the entombment of Floyd Ollings since Jan 30. Officials including Brigadier General McM. Wea: rdt and Governor Fields orders will guide witnesses and tests at the shaft depth near 70 feet. Doctors report Collins appeared to breathe 22 to 26 times per minute, with sound matching machinery breathing, while attempts to replicate noises continued.

Count and Countess Pierre de Jumilhac of Paris visit the Franciscan hotel in Taos New Mexico as they travel from New York to Santa Barbara. They express pleasure with the Taos pueblo and the Franciscan and plan to return to France in March. The Countess formerly Miss Constance Coolidge and Mrs Ray Atherton. This is the Count Jumilhac’s first American trip.
At 7 pm this morning Francis A. Chapman receiver for the State National bank begins payments of a 30 percent dividend for creditors. Nearly 3,000 depositors will receive about 450000. Checks were prepared in Washington and will be paid daily 10 am to 3 pm. Out of town creditors will receive by mail.
The Senate authorized an inquiry into the tobacco trust and ordered an investigation of General Electric. Pullman surcharges were sustained by the Interstate Commerce Commission. Secretary Weeks offered recommendations on Chicago’s Lake Michigan water withdrawal. The Turkish treaty faced brief review by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Corporal William Crumback was shot five times after failing to heed a sentry challenge at Schoffield barracks in Honolulu. Crumback’s home is Detroit, Michigan. The sentry faces provisional murder charges.
The funeral of Justiniano Baca state commissioner of public lands will be Wednesday in Santa Fe. Santa Fe February 8 The house appointed a committee Carter Casacos Welch Gallegos and Barela to make a condolence call on the widow of the late Justiniano Bach state land commissioner and prepare resolutions. The body dismissed Dessieux challenge to Gurule of McKinley County. Adjourned to 2 pm Wednesday out of respect.
Warren J. Lincoln, the Aurora lawyer florist who confessed to killing his wife and her brother Byron Shoup, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment after a jury deliberated for three hours and 25 minutes across five ballots. Lincoln’s son John testified, crying as the verdict was read. No appeal motions were filed, and the state did not yet say whether Lincoln would be tried for Shoup’s death.
