Manhattan hold up at Raton details and arrests
The Manhattan case in Raton New Mexico began at 2 45 am when two youths armed with revolvers forced Lee Salas to open the till. They took 27 dollars from the register Salas watch and 1 50 in coins. One fled while the other guarded. Police and deputies recovered Salas watch with Arthur Manley of Pueblo and Leo Weltz of Raton later arrested. Weltz reportedly ready to plead guilty. Manley had not spoken on plea.

Woman Dies En Route Home From Phoenix On Train
Mrs Iona F Shroyer of Wabash Indiana died Monday night on train No 2 while traveling from Phoenix Arizona to her home. Her body was moved from the train in Raton New Mexico and prepared for shipment. She was accompanied by husband J C Shrover mother Mrs Sarah Blewart and two children.
Mrs Moran May Place Veterans Orphans Hospital in Albuquerque
Mrs M B Moran of Pittsburgh arrives to assess Albuquerque as the site for a 200 child orphans hospital for veterans. The plan has American Legion support and backing from eastern wealthy donors. If chosen the hospital could be handed to the War Mothers Memorial hospital after about 15 years.
