Albert Veeder testified in the Chicago meatpacking trial about the National Packing company formed March 18 1903 with 15 million capital. He described merging thirteen firms including Stock Yards Warehouse and Fowler Packing, bought by Armour Swift Morris, with profits tied to by-products and conclusions on Kenwood and Aetna Trading companies.
The examination of Mrs. Carrie Sparling accused of causing her son Cyril’s death by arsenic poisoning was postponed until January 10 at the request of the prosecution. The case stems from events in Axe Michigan.

Evidence that tension on the border is easing since the surrender of General Reyes appeared when twenty U S infantrymen under Lieutenant Beach returned today from San Jose twenty five miles northwest of Laredo where they had been on guard duty.
