In Linares Mexico on December 25 General Bernardo Reyes once a top military figure and revolt leader surrendered to General Trevino. He asked mercy for his few loyal followers still at large while Trevino kept Reyes under guard and refused to release his men.

He predicts minor uprisings will be easily suppressed and calls Reyes surrender his Christmas present. The body of Adolfo Garcia, a well known resident of the lower Rio Grande valley, was found near Engle New Mexico early this morning a short distance from the Rio Grande. It is believed he forded the river in cold conditions, became exhausted and faint, and froze to death. He leaves a wife and family at Las Cruces and was brother in law of Antonio Barncastle newly elected county commissioner of Doña Ana County.

St Louis December 25 Speaker Champ Clark left for Kansas City to visit relatives then will travel to Tulsa Guthrie and Oklahoma City before returning for New Years He conferred with Clark presidential headquarters volunteers during the day as part of his tour.

He reportedly broke down and wept upon learning that President Taft refused to grant his release. Morse showed restraint when his wife and family visited, but later grew inconsolable and ate little.
Robert G. Fowler reached the Mississippi River at New Orleans on Christmas day by ferry crossing while en route from Paradise Louisiana to the Atlantic coast. He planned to return to Paradise the next day and resume his flight if weather improves for further progress to New Orleans with his mother awaiting at the city dinner.

All injured were taken to Pottsville hospital. none yet reported fatally injured though several in precarious condition. Most passengers suffered broken limbs. one passenger, Mrs. Martin Schaefer, is said to be beyond recovery. Harry Butz of Schuylkill Haven is the only other named passenger identified. The crash is blamed on a broken raft.
Madrid reports from Melilla confirm renewed Rift fighting on December 23 and 24 despite a December 22 repulse. Spanish positions held but casualties rose with six officers killed and thirty six men killed or wounded. King Alfonso suspends immediate engagements and stays in Madrid.
In Ogden Utah Private Garr of the fifteenth United States Infantry wed Miss Kara Lund just before boarding a westbound train to the Philippines. The ceremony occurred at the Union depot with fifty recruits as witnesses. He pledged to leave the army and take a honeymoon two years hence.
New York December 25 night bulletin reports Dr C H Mayo after two operations at Presbyterian hospital for appendectomy and gallstones rested well. His temperature and pulse improved and prospects of recovery deemed very favorable with a restful day noted.
