A Tuesday evening concert at Highland Methodist Church featured the Ellie Mandalin club and prominent local performers. The Mandalin club is regarded among the city's leading musical organizations with notably splendid talent.

At the First Ward school closing program Mrs. Butts received a silver fruit dish from parents and a speech praised her long service. Mrs. Pratt lauded Mrs. Butts as Albuquerque’s oldest public school teacher. Conwell. the event was as gay as typical Varsity affairs and among the sorority’s most successful social functions.
The Albuquerque High School held a Thursday dance in Ellis' ballroom with white and yellow decor. Students praised the lively programs and music, noting the prettiest girls and top dancers enhanced the festive pre Christmas event for locals and guests.
The Christian Ladies Aid sponsors a holiday recital at Gold and Broadway Christian Church on Tuesday evening December 2. The program includes solos by Mrs Heald and Miss Grace Stortz with pianists Miss Martha Kullerd and Miss Beryl Kenworthy, choral and violin items, and a duet by Mrs Frank and Mr Andrews.

The Woman's club hosts its annual New Year's reception on Monday afternoon January 2 with enhanced decorations and refreshments. The social committee led by Mrs Beeswick of Casa de Oro plans a large social event inviting all strangers in the city. hours run 8 to 6.
Dr and Mrs P G Cornish left early last week for New York City to spend the holidays. Their son Gillette, a Yale freshman, and Eileen McMillen a Smith College student, will join them for Christmas with the Cornish family.
Brightly Dayton arrives as business manager for William A. Brady show The Gentleman From Mississippi. The Elks Theatre engagement opens December 31 with a sharp cast and a political plot involving a naval base bill and Gulf land deals. Senator Langdon thwarts the schemers. cast includes Fischer as Langdon and a New York company led by Isrady with Butler Arthur Hewbets and many others.
Miss Grace Caldwell of the northern Arizona normal school notes a 40 percent rise in student numbers. The increase requires five new classrooms a larger assembly hall and additional faculty as the institution expands its influence across the territory.
