A ten year old girl Senora Bryant was killed by lightning at the Bryant home in station Georgia while a neighbor gathering for a song service. Fifteen others were injured though not seriously. The tragedy occurred as the girl lay on the sofa with her cousin during the service.

Train wreck in Colorado caused by 60 mph winds
A northbound Colorado and Southern train left Denver at 10 am and wrecked near Marshall ten miles south of Boulder. The baggage car and first passenger coach overturned. One passenger died and several were seriously injured with many others hurt. Names include J Garrett and Fred Kelly among the injured and Jackson Griener among the crew. A gale across northern Colorado damaged farm buildings and blew down trees and telegraph poles.

Rescuers at Jacobs Creek Pennsylvania recovered forty nine bodies from the Pittsburg Coal Darr mine with many more located in entries 27 28 and 29.
