Buffalo, December 238 J Frank Hickey convicted of second degree murder in the killing of ten year old Joseph Josephs of Lackawanna on October 12, 1912. He is sentenced to Auburn State Prison for an indeterminate term with a minimum of twenty years and a maximum of life.
J Frank Hickey, convicted of killing Josephs, started his Auburn prison sentence. En route he told Sheriff Becker he had attempted to kill twelve or thirteen other boys in Boston New York Lowell and Orange.

Levi Ehresman is arraigned in Pomona on murder charges after police say he confessed to shooting John Nicholson, an automobile dealer, and then burning a barn where Nicholson’s remains were found near Lordsburg. The alleged motive was a dispute over an automobile sale and debt. The killing reportedly occurred December 5 with bones found two days later.
Mme Bloch, novelist, was acquitted of homicide in the Paris Assize Court for shooting Mrs Minnie Bridgeman amid a love scandal with Bloch's husband. The jury awarded one franc damages in the civil case. Judge Bertius condemned the husband’s conduct as unpardonable.
