Mr. Hamilton introduces a measure in the House to allow a second constitutional convention if the people reject the first. The bill would empower the governor to call another convention and draft a new constitution if initial proposals fail.

In Pittaburg, Kentucky, William Murray shot and killed Etherto Cole then killed his wife and her mother before turning the gun on himself. The wife died at the scene, the others died soon after. sheriff found them in a yard heap. Murray made no statement before dying a short time later.
G C Cheuvront in Fresno California fatally strikes wife with a hatchet and wounds several children before dying after a confrontation on a railroad track. The incident leaves Claude 12 and Gladys 10 critically hurt while others recover. A posse later finds the dismembered body in a culvert beside the rails.
United States Senator A J McLaurin dies at his Brandon Mississippi home from heart failure at 6:94 PM. He was 61, a veteran lawyer and former Mississippi governor who served in the Senate terms begun 1904 and 1900, known for defense of the South and work on the Mississippi river and other committees. Seven children survive. Funeral plans reveal possible appointment by Governor Noel or a legislative choice when convened in January.
In Jackson on December 22 James K Vardaman and Senator elect John Shard Williams are named in talks to fill the unexpired McLaurin term. Governor Nance (Nout) declines to say if he will appoint or send the matter to the coming legislature convening next month.
In Waco Texas on December 22 Constable Edgar Williams died after being shot by Louis Mills during a Monday night arrest attempt. Mills was seized by a mob and lynched following the shooting.
Report of a bright searching airship cruising above Worcester Massachusetts for over two hours at about 2000 feet. Witnesses described a powerful searchlight and a dim dark hull while a Worcester resident Wallace E Tillinghast was reportedly absent. The craft vanished toward Marlborough then returned multiple times before heading southeast.
An airship was seen over Marlborough early tonight traveling northwest at about thirty miles per hour. Residents across Marlborough observed the craft and traced its general path toward Clinton, Massachusetts.
