Prohibition officers seized a Ford car containing whisky belonging to Olin Prather who lives west of Barton in the mountains east of here. A pair of unload ear lugs soaked with moonshine were found. They had suspected Prather of bringing liquor to the city.
Kansas City Kansas December 20. A jury in the Tony Dinella murder trial for the death of his 11 year old daughter Flora was excused after nearly three days of deliberation unable to reach a verdict. They were ordered to report again tomorrow morning.
New Mexico and nearby areas forecast for Thursday and Friday show fair skies with little change in temperature. Denver and surrounding region expect similar pleasant conditions with light winds and continued dry weather.

Mrs Doris Brunen was acquitted while her brother Marry C Mohr was found guilty of first degree murder in the slaying of circus owner John T Brunen in Mount Holly New Jersey. Sentencing to life imprisonment with a January 9 date set after holidays. trial featured about 50 witnesses and a confession by Powell who claimed motive was money.
Ban Johnson turned over to Commissioner Landis data from two years of American League pools inquiry. The report, prepared in Chicago for a joint New York meeting, impressed Landis who called it “the slimiest crooks I have ever encountered.” Johnson’s probe focused on Chicago pools and their extensive operation. Washington reports public hearings on the impeachment charges against Attorney General Paugherty are expected to end tomorrow. The House Judiciary Committee likely will report no basis for impeachment after Christmas, with a few Justice Department witnesses remaining. The Aggies football squad under Coach Lowell Romney travels from Salt Lake City to Phoenix to face the University of Arizona on Christmas day. Seventeen players accompany Romney along with Professor R. BR GWeent and Manager Sam Crowley. The team plans to depart Salt Lake City tomorrow afternoon.
Three bandits robbed the First National Bank of Dyer Indiana of six thousand dollars. A bandit in women's clothes was shot by grocer John Kellman and gravely wounded. The trio fled west in a touring car as a posse formed after the alarm.
Heavy shipments of beans from northern Mexico to El Paso raise concerns in Chihuahua citizens. Petitioners say the bean influx may reduce supplies for local people and prompt government action.

Washington December 24 The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports employment rose in 31 industries and fell in 12 in November across 3 232 establishments. Payrolls rose in 31 industries with 1 556 437 workers earning 45 901 271 dollars. Car building and repairing led gains at 7.9 percent with cotton manufacturing stamped ware and agricultural implements adding 6.3 to 7.5 percent. Ship building and agricultural implements showed payroll gains from 12 to 13.8 percent.
Four city commissioners debated a successor to William Walton while neither Judge F R Hanna nor W A Keleher knew their names were in nomination. Both declined interest. Hanna said he was unaware of any candidacy and would focus on professional duties, and Keleher could not accept a commission seat despite being named.
Fort Worth Texas December 20 officials of the Missouri Kansas & Texas lines announced a total of 15 million dollars will be spent on new equipment and improvements during the late receivership and post reorganization. Major items include completing the Ray freight terminal near Denison and building new locomotive shops at Waco with an estimated 1 half million for Waco and about 350 900 for Ray terminal.
Professor and Mrs. John T. Tiernan of South Bend Ind and their son, central figure in a paternity case against Tarry Poulin, were found in a Greenwich Village hotel with their two daughters. They used the alias William A. Ross and family from Detroit.
