In St Paul Minnesota on December 15 Tom Gibbons defeated Billy Miske by the referee's decision after a ten round bout. Gibbons led most of the fight and maintained the advantage throughout, with Miske flashing moments of promise but unable to sustain pressure. Weights were 196 pounds for Miske and 182 and a half for Gibbons. The decision by the referee and two judges was unanimous.

The forecast calls for generally fair conditions across New Mexico on Saturday and Sunday with snow flurries in the northwest on Saturday and slightly warmer temperatures east of the mountains. Arizona mirrors the pattern with snow flurries in the northeast and a significant temperature change expected over the weekend.

Washington reports Rep Keller Republican Minnesota failed to appear before the House Judiciary Committee under oath to disclose information behind impeachment charges against Attorney General Daugherty. The committee debated contempt proceedings while Keller attended portions of the session and later consulted with counsel.
Washington officials and lawmakers backed cooperative marketing as key to farmer relief. Secretary Hoover Senator Capper and Eugene Meyer Jr praised farmer unions from thirty six states for stabilizing finances and urged broader farm credit and local bank funding to extend relief beyond current programs. The group urged faster action on rural credit with reforms supported by the federal reserve board.

Lausanne reports Monsignor Germanos, Greek Orthodox leader, appealed to Christian America and world Christians to influence Turkey to retain the Greek patriarch in Constantinople. He warned unity in religion and shared priestly recognition bind churches and could be jeopardized if the patriarchate departs.
Santa Fe invites all state residents to the inauguration of Gov James F Hinkle with oath at the hall of representatives and a public reception at the new museum The La Fonda hotel will host a grand ball with tickets at 19 dollars. Mechem staff and cadet officers from the New Mexico Military Institute will attend with listed officers.
Judge Kenesaw M. Landis the national baseball commissioner will visit the Pacific coast in January or February. William A. McCarthy president of the Pacific Coast league said Landis is enthusiastic about the coast because of the players its clubs turn out.
Alexander college of Jacksonville defeated John Tarlton college 19 to 18 to win the junior college state football championship in Stevensville Tex Dee.
Washington December 13 the original copy of the Colorado river compact signed November 24 at Santa Fe New Mexico was deposited with the state department by Secretary Hoover as chairman of the Colorado River commission. The department will guard the document until ratification by the seven states and Congress. Hoover expected ratification early next spring by all states involved.
Temet Pasha discussed Mosul with Marquis Curzon in Lausanne. Britain reaffirmed that Mosul, home to Arabs and key oil fields, cannot be conceded to Turkey. Turkish delegates maintain Mosul as Turkish territory and reject concessions lacking Armenian national terms.
The state rests against Doris Crunen and her brother Harry Mohr in the Killing of John T. Brunen. Jurors will visit Riverside where Brunen was shot and Cambridge trolley station where killer Charles Powell said he met Mohr after the shooting. Key witnesses include Mrs Elizabeth Jaeschke and Detective Parker as trials proceed.
Austin telegram says Joseph Hi Smith, watchman blamed by a railroad board for the Humble wreck, was located in Hockley Texas by his son Arvin J Smith. Mrs Smith relays he is suffering from shock and cannot explain his presence. High tier persons died in the crash.
In a Chicago competition with 1 500 pedigreed canaries Baby Grand an American bird was tonight adjudged the greatest warbler in the world. Frank Seer of Chicago is the owner and breeder of the prized bird.
In a dramatic Senate session Harrison accuses Co Bascom Slemp of handling patronage and funds for the Virginia GOP. He displays letters and checks he claims prove office sellings, while Slemp denies any authorization to collect money for office promises. The chamber seats the Republican claimant John Paul after Harrison’s remarks.
In Yuma Arizona on December 15 the trial of Alva E. Smith, former Parker Bank vice president, resumed with largely technical testimony. He is accused of embezzling 6000 dollars by buying Parker Bank stock with a check and shifting Parker funds to cover it, plus tied to Parker’s failure and other charges. Deputy Sheriff John Roberts testified about Smith following the Parker collapse, with Smith arrested en route to Mexico aboard a power boat.
Maj. Theodore MacAutey, renowned trans continental flyer, under war department orders, will depart Rockwell Field to assist in locating Col. F. Co. Marshall and Lieut. Webber who vanished December 7 during a San Diego to Fort Huachuca flight. He suspects a crash may have occurred in rugged terrain near the Copepah mountains and the Marey river region by the Gulf of California.
