The Glasgow Trades Council representing 106 000 Scottish trade unionists adopts resolutions calling for a new trial or immediate release for Thomas J. Mooney. A cablegram from the New York council for San Francisco labor defense accuses authorities of using trumped up evidence in Mooney’s murder conviction tied to the San Francisco preparedness day parade bombing. The New York group asks to convey the demand for justice to the American president.
President Wilson arrives in Brest amid huge crowds and naval pageantry then departs for Paris in a special train. He is greeted by French officials and diplomats as he begins his European visit with warm exchanges and ceremonies.
