Jones moves to bring up the administration marine bill as its supporters press for a vote. Opponents stall the opening statement delaying the measure’s start in the Senate.
Senator Robinson of Arkansas opened the attack criticizing the administrations postponement of house action on the shipping bill amid fall campaign tensions. He argued the measure aided by the Democratic critics would harm voters and noted Republican gains in districts supporting the bill. The debate included calls for expedited action and reflections on recent resignations and proposed anti-lynching and Liberian loan measures.
Denver reports Dec 11 forecast for New Mexico and Arizona showing Tuesday and Wednesday fair but much colder with a moderate cold wave affecting the north and east portions. Arizona also sees cold conditions with similar timing and clear skies.
The university reports the twenty four hour period ending 6 p m with temperature highs and lows, humidity readings, precipitation, wind direction from the west, and a clear sky.
Four men robbed the Fillmore estate Bank at Piru California near Los Angeles stealing $6000. They forced bank president C Spencer and his six year old daughter Mary Fila into their auto and fled south toward Los Angeles. The pair were warned not to call for help and later released in Westlake Park after the car vanished into heavy traffic.
Washington lawmakers push farm credit legislation with bi partisan support. Senate banking and agricultural committees plan doubleheader hearings on Lenroot Andersen bill and related credit measures to aid farmers. Senator elect Fraizer of North Dakota testified on farmer credit needs and Western agricultural delegations will provide testimony in coming days.
London dispatch reports allied leaders, after three days of talks, edging toward US mediation as Paris talks stall. France may seek debt cancellation to ease reparations. Britain hints at a broader offer if France accepts indemnity and force measures.
Western states filed evidence with the Interstate Commerce Commission seeking reductions on freight rates for grain grain products and hay west of the Mississippi and east of the Rockies. The Kansas Public Utilities Commission led the action with Minnesota Nebraska North and South Dakota Iowa Missouri and Oklahoma joining. all western railroads oppose. Dr Henry J Waters described rate history noting prior cuts in 1991 and a 10% reduction last July had nullified earlier relief for farmers.
Denver authorities report George Ginsheim aged 66 died at his residence today after shooting himself. Police said no foul play is suspected and the death is being treated as suicide.

Washington Delaware Mor ris and company booked for purchase by Armour and company from Morris and company. Secretary Wallace of agriculture to announce final decision after discussions with Armour executives. Government sources see no legal obstacle to the Morris plant sale.
The progressive dozen in the Senate led by Senator Robert LaFollette of Wisconsin and Senator William Borah of Idaho pledge to plan legislation on agriculture labor railroads shipping and taxation plus constitutional amendments including those affecting presidential elections to influence control of the next session.
The London conference on German reparations ended with a pledge to reconvene in Paris on January 2. The moratorium expires January 15 and the next payment remains disputed. Britain refused to back French Ruhr occupation plans, Mussolini’s proposals were courteous but not a solution, and no general plan was offered to break the deadlock.
Clarence M. Botts of Albuquerque was appointed associate justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court after Chief Justice Raynolds resigned. Botts will serve until after the November 1924 election. Frank W. Parker remains chief justice through December 31, 1928. Local lawyers praised Botts for his training and temperament.
George Gay a 25 year old Black man was arrested today in Streetman Texas for an alleged assault on a young woman. He was shot and killed instantly by a mob as police moved him to jail.
Curry County man Cook Myers age 25 son of BD Myers was accidentally shot in the chest while hunting 29 miles northeast of Clovis Sunday afternoon. He attempted to move a firearm when the gun exploded buckshot struck his right breast. He died at the Baptist hospital about 9 p m. Myers an ex service man and American Legion member will be buried here Tuesday afternoon.
William Gibbs McAdoo, son of the former secretary of the treasury, was arrested in Santa Ana California on a speeding charge. He was cited to appear before a justice of the peace on Wednesday after a motorcycle officer said he drove his car at 35 miles per hour through a dangerous boulevard intersection.

Durango Colorado December 11 Rod S Day editor of the Durango Democrat was found not guilty of murder in the death of William J Wood city editor of the Durango Herald in a case that drew state wide interest. The verdict followed 12 ballots and a night in court. Day testified Wood attacked him and he fired from the hip fearing assault. a first bullet killed Wood and a second was fired unintentionally. Day has led the Democrat for 13 years succeeding his father.
Er nest A Hamer of San Antonio Texas fullback for the University of Pennsylvania was elected captain of the 192? eleven. He is 20 years old and among the youngest leaders the team has ever had.
Rioting marked the inauguration of Gabriel Narutowicz as president of Poland with 20,000 nationalist demonstrators clashing with radicals and Jews. Narutowicz took the oath in the diet chamber after a two hour delay as soldiers cleared the way. Four people suffered minor injuries in clashes between rival factions and police.
San Antonio dispatch reports Colonel Francis P Marshall and Lieutenant Charles J Webber missing aviators. Army planes will cross into Sonora Mexico after Sonora governor grants permission. Meanwhile, a mail carrier sighting near Tucson prompts additional search by Fort Sam Houston and Kelly Field crews en route to El Paso and Tucson.
Frank Leroy Chance, former manager of the Chicago Nationals and New York Americans, signed to overhaul the Red Sox for 1923. He will have full authority, may coach on the lines, but will not play, as Boston aims to strengthen for pennant races and relocate his home base to the east.
The Supreme Court ruled that federal and state authorities may prosecute the same illicit liquor acts in manufacture possession transportation and sale. It held that double jeopardy does not bar such trials and that states and the federal government may independently enforce prohibition. The decision cites conflicts over penalties and references prior related rulings.
Omaha December 11 Union Pacific requests bids on 78 new freight engines. Five of the locomotives are of the largest type, with an estimated total cost near 6.906 million dollars. L Hauf assistant to President Gray announced the bid call.
Colonel T. T. Huston announced he is negotiating to sell his best interest in the New York American Baseball Club. He has received several offers including one from partner Colonel Jacob Ruppert, but has not yet decided.
The Rev. Randolph Carter former member of the Methodist conference of Southern Hillnots and Minnesota died at his home in Los Angeles yesterday at age 76. He is survived by his widow three sons and a daughter.
